What is Acquisition and Life Cycle Logistics?

 

JSL supports Program Managers and the Fleet with various engineering and technical support services to ensure combat and weapons systems perform as designed throughout their life cycle.  JSL does this across seven main task areas that include: Logistics Support, Warehouse Services, Receiving and Delivery, Technical Library Support, Records Management Support, Operations Support and Project Management.  JSL performs organizational and intermediate level supply support functions, logistics analysis and support to Navy project managers, engineers and logistics personnel for configuration identification during the acquisition phase and continuing throughout the equipment life cycle.  JSL supports the acquisition process assisting in determination of equipment and parts sparing levels.  JSL has extensive knowledge and experience with Navy ERP, in all functional areas including Material Procurement and Control, and associated audit readiness (FIAR) initiatives.

Procurement Services

    • JSL solicits proposals, assists in awarding contracts, as well as procuring required systems, equipment, and services from industry vendors and suppliers.

Manpower, Personnel, and Training

    • JSL assists in providing manpower, as well as conducting rigorous testing and evaluation activities to verify and validate the performance, reliability, and safety of personnel and equipment.
